Headquartered in Toronto, BDO's Winnipeg office has planned their relocation as an opportunity to modernize their workspace and align with their current corporate accommodation standards. An open floor plan with a dramatic reduction in scale and quantity of enclosed offices planned on two floors, encourages staff to pick up and move to informal and casual touchdown spaces throughout the day.

A notable revamp of our current workplace has recently taken place with outcomes that have resonated well with staff. The goal was to encourage workspace flexibility throughout the day by offering options where staff could pick up and relocate easily – cultivating a fun work environment that “fuels the fire” for great ideas to take place.

Working within the constraints of an existing abandoned auditorium, a new office for the research department flourished. The swing, purposefully placed at the centre of the open area, serves as a powerful reminder to all staff that ideas come from all aspects of day-to-day living and come to light when you least expect it.

Interiors convey and embrace a message of workplace safety and inclusive design for all. SAFE Work’s powerful branding imagery played a significant role in establishing a crisp, vibrant and dynamic work environment for both staff and the public.

The architecture of this signature design responds to its context with dynamic curves and angular forms. The interior seeks to recreate the traditional banking hall with lofty ceilings and abundant natural lighting.

Known as the Gibraltar house; an iconic landmark within Winnipeg’s downtown. The lofty refresh of the building façade, including four floors of the building interior, define the strength, foundation and history of this majestic fortress.
