Headquartered in Toronto, BDO's Winnipeg office has planned their relocation as an opportunity to modernize their workspace and align with their current corporate accommodation standards. An open floor plan with a dramatic reduction in scale and quantity of enclosed offices planned on two floors, encourages staff to pick up and move to informal and casual touchdown spaces throughout the day. An interconnecting feature stair placed near the bow of the floorplate adds an unexpected wow factor, anchors the office and encourages movement between floors. The opportunity to infuse a local “homegrown” feel within the corporate palette was developed by increasing the typical wood ratio, layering patterns and finishes and working with a local artist to provide art installations within the client and staff spaces.
