Senior or Intermediate Professional Interior Designer

ft3 is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Professional Interior Designer to join our team. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess exceptional design skills and an established portfolio featuring project work across healthcare, multi-family housing and corporate office demonstrating relevant experience and working knowledge of concept design development, FF&E, technical package production and the National Building Code of Canada.
  • Have excellent working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and InDesign.
  • Engage strongly with and present to clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and administration skills.
  • Have a strong teamworking spirit.

Landscape Architectural Intern

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master of Landscape Architecture graduate degree and have a portfolio demonstrating a strong graphic and design sensibility.
  • Ambition to improve everyday spaces by design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Revit considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Initiative and participation in the decision-making processes.

  • Willingness to assume progressively responsible roles.
  • Past experience in an office environment and current registration as an intern with a CSLA component will be considered an asset.

Healthcare Architect

ft3 has an immediate need for a Healthcare Architect. Reporting to the Healthcare Lead and Principals, the Healthcare Architect will be responsible for design and project management simultaneously on several projects consisting of the following: 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a registered MAA member or be eligible to apply for licensure, with seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience on healthcare projects; 
  • Extensive practical and working knowledge of construction practices and regulations; 
  • Extensive practical and working knowledge of contract practices and delivery methods; 
  • Experience in preparation and monitoring of contracts; 
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills; 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; 
  • Determination to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines; 
  • Outstanding communication skills (presentation, written and verbal); 
  • Be well versed in sustainability practices and certifications (e.g. LEED, Green Globes, Boma BEST) – accreditation preferred; 
  • Understanding of Lean design methodology and Lean for Healthcare – accreditation preferred; and 
  • A working knowledge of Revit.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Project management and design of healthcare projects; 
  • Together with the Healthcare Lead, lead the design team on healthcare projects; 
  • Communicate with clients throughout the project; 
  • Coordinate with (engineering) consultants; 
  • Assist in leading community consultation and design charrettes / workshops; 
  • Supervise contract administration processes on their projects; 
  • Attend key site meetings and assist with site reviews and reports; 
  • Participate in shop drawing review; 
  • Assist in peer review of other projects at ft3; 
  • Assist in developing Post Occupancy Evaluations; and
  • Travel occasionally as required for this position.

Project Architect

  • Be a registered MAA member, with three (3) to five (5) years of experience; 
  • Practical and working knowledge of construction practices and regulations; 
  • Practical and working knowledge of contract practices and delivery methods; 
  • Experience in preparation and monitoring of contracts; 
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills; 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; 
  • Determination to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines; 
  • Outstanding communication skills (presentation, written and verbal);

Intermediate or Senior Architectural Technologist

ft3 has an immediate need for an Intermediate or Senior Architectural Technologist. Reporting to the Project Architect and Partner-in-Charge, the Technologist will be responsible for Contract Document and BIM model management simultaneously on several projects consisting of the following key duties:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Set up, coordination and supervision of the BIM model;
  • Coordinate model/drawings (internal) between Architecture, Landscape and Interior Design;
  • Coordinate model/drawings with external consultants;
  • Participate in shop drawing reviews;
  • Participate in reviewing Construction Documents prior to Tender (including  Peer  reviews);
  • (Occasional) site reviews together with the Contract Admin team.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Five (Intermediate) to ten (Senior) years of related work experience;
  • A degree, diploma or certificate in construction or design related field;
  • Extensive practical and working knowledge of construction practices and regulations;
  • Extensive practical and working knowledge of Construction detailing;
  • Experience in coordinating and managing BIM models (Revit);
  • Thorough understanding of Revit and AutoCAD;
  • Strong coordination and organization skills;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Determination to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • ABTAM or CTTAM Certification is preferred.
