For Rex Bergado, a drafting class in high school introduced him to the idea of establishing a career in the architectural industry. From exercises around problem-solving construction issues to developing construction drawings, Rex knew he had energized an innate skillset that would serve him well in this industry.

After attending the University of Manitoba’s pre-architecture program, Rex discovered that architectural technology better suited his love for problem-solving. Whether it involved detailing to assist with building efficiency or addressing the building itself to find a solution, he realized that architecture with a technological edge would still allow him to improve people’s lives and create dynamic spaces for them.

Rex graduated from Red River College’s Building Design Technology program, developing an extensive and valuable understanding of building information modelling. Shortly after, he joined ft3 as an architectural technologist, carving out an essential role within the firm due to his enhanced knowledge of 3D modelling and drawing applications. He has since built expertise in architectural detailing and has worked on projects spanning personal care homes, schools and churches. Rex currently sits on the Program Advisory Committee at Red River College.
