As a child, Emily Barber often questioned the intricacies of buildings, breaking down each piece to determine how it supported and complemented the other. These details continued to shape Emily as she grew older, and she developed an affinity and curiosity for architecture and interior design.

Emily completed her Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Interior Design at the University of Manitoba. An assignment on supportive housing ignited a passion within her for designing spaces that evoke empathy. Her research eventually led her to do a podcast with the founder of Amie Gross Architects, a New York City firm that specializes in equitable design.

Since joining ft3 as a designer, Emily has assisted on projects within the firm’s Health & Wellness and Corporate Office areas of expertise. Looking toward the future, Emily wants to focus on designing spaces that foster moments of rest and pause, encouraging the world to slow down and appreciate the details.
