Title:

Landscape Architect

ft3 Project Highlight:

Kapabamayak Achaak Healing Forest

After hearing someone describe landscape architecture as the profession of designing spaces where people experience joy, Kristen Struthers couldn’t escape the notion that this was her career path. She soon completed her Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Manitoba before joining a multidisciplinary firm in Winnipeg, MB.

Kristen’s evolution as a designer has focused on creating spaces that are inviting, functional, and accessible. Her project work spans the Prairie Provinces, including destination highlights such as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park and Sir Wilfred Laurier Park in Winnipeg, MB, K.W. Nassar Plaza in Saskatoon, SK, and The Capella in Calgary, AB.

Since joining ft3 as a landscape architect, Kristen has worked primarily in the firm’s Health & Wellness sector. She enjoys bringing her well-researched and logical design solutions — infused with a cathartic dose of whimsy — to each project she undertakes. She finds immense satisfaction when collaboration with her peers and other disciplines enhances those solutions and successfully realizes the client's vision.
