Project Manager

Canadian Mennonite University

From a young age, well-designed spaces and places that evoke meaning and emotion have drawn in Elizabeth Shannon—particularly the role of light and how buildings can direct and manipulate its illumination. Elizabeth grew up in South Africa, completing her master’s in architecture at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein.

Before joining ft3 in 2023 as a project manager, Elizabeth established her professional experience at Gold Metal Construction and Ingerop in South Africa and ADD.locus Architects in Seychelles. These roles allowed her to hone her expertise in providing architectural support, coordination, and contract management, to name a few, on projects to deliver high-quality results.

Within her work, Elizabeth takes inspiration from the work of Herzog and de Meuron, Santiago Calatrava, and Tadao Ando. She’s very interested in how light, shadow, water, and other natural elements work together in shaping the buildings put forth by these architects. She sees this work as pushing the boundaries of design to create cities and communities that are more liveable and sustainable for future generations.
