When Tristan Merke would visit Downtown Winnipeg from Beausejour, Man., she always loved seeing the heritage buildings. A family trip to Egypt further enriched this area of interest, and Tristan became enchanted by the historical impact of architecture, transforming her fascination into a lifelong learning expedition.

Tristan completed the Bachelor of Environmental Design at the University of Manitoba before embarking on her Master of Architecture at the University of Calgary, where she explored ideas and spatial solutions for those experiencing domestic violence during the pandemic in Calgary, Alta., in her keystone project.

Since joining the ft3 team, Tristan has worked on several projects within the firm’s Health and Wellness area, including Portage District General Hospital and Boundary Trails Health Centre. Tristan enjoys collaborating with the firm’s different disciplines and working with her peers toward design solutions that improve people’s day-to-day connections with the built world.
