Lord Nelson School Addition

While Antoni Gaudi, Bjarke Ingels, Shigeru Ban and Oscar Niemeyer have inspired Igor Cabrilo to seek innovation and imagination in his career, his interest in architecture emerged at home, watching his dad design and build for others in the community. Born in former Yugoslavia, Igor and his family moved to Winnipeg, where he further explored his creativity in the drafting classroom at Maples Collegiate.

Igor received his Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from the University of Manitoba before joining the team at ft3. He has taken on many roles within the firm, including designer, architect, project manager and contractor administrator, honing his skills and knowledge around residential and commercial projects and building a reputation for efficiency without compromising quality and detail.

His excitement for the profession builds on the process of resolving challenges through design, which allows him to align with ft3’s clients’ visions and goals to successfully execute the project. Igor understands the broad significance of excellent design, not only for the user but for the environment as well, and wants to see the advancement of sustainable and environmentally conscious design processes that will continue supporting those types of dynamic and engaging environments.
