Designed to serve the acute and long-term care needs of the local community. The facility seamlessly integrates long-term care, and acute care beds, emergency care, diagnostics, community health services, and a medical clinic within the same footprint. The long-term care residents are divided into two, 15-bed ‘homes’, each with a landscaped, secure garden area accessible via a screen porch.

Already a part of an aging-in-place campus, the major expansion of the Rest Haven Personal Care Home from 60 residents to 142 which is linked to Woodhaven Manor seniors housing (also designed by ft3 in two phases in the 1990s) supports community, family and friends in a safe, residential model.

Aging-in-Place is about choices. The choice to live in your community. The choice to have options that will allow you to maintain a lifestyle that you have been accustomed to is a positive one. This can be supported by creating a series of households with a small number of residents to maintain a more residential feel.
