"...we made a point of striving for the highest level of accreditation that we could, knowing both our clients and staff are looking to us to lead the way." - Joanne McFadden
CaGBC Chair Lisa Bate and President and CEO Thomas Mueller visited ft3 on September 23, 2011 to unveil a plaque officially designating the firm's Winnipeg offices LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors, one of only two such designations in the province.
FT3 staff attending the event included Marten Duhoux, Chair of the Manitoba Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council and Melanie Gagnon, also of ft3, Director, Governance and Legal for the Manitoba Chapter.
"Our firm championed green building practices well before sustainability became a buzz-word," says Duhoux. "The depth of our appreciation for environmentally friendly building practices and materials selection enabled us to ensure that sustainability was no afterthought, but the driving force behind our office design."
"We continually discuss the benefits of green design with our clients," says Joanne McFadden, ft3 partner and senior interior designer, "however in creating our own space we had an opportunity to really walk the talk. So we made a point of striving for the highest level of accreditation that we could, knowing both our clients and staff are looking to us to lead the way."
